With everything that we have experienced over the past 3 years and with the possibility of a Covid-comeback I thought it would be timely to introduce a discussion around the merits of two competing theories namely Germ Theory and Terrain Theory.
The field of medical science has been marked by ongoing debates and paradigm shifts, particularly when it comes to understanding the underlying causes of diseases. These theories offer distinct perspectives on the origins and development of diseases, often sparking discussions about the role of micro-organisms and the overall health of the body.
Germ Theory, which gained prominence in the late 19th century, posits that diseases are primarily caused by specific micro-organisms, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi, which invade the body and disrupt its normal functioning. This theory, championed by figures like Louis Pasteur (1822–1895), emphasizes the importance of identifying and targeting these pathogens to treat and prevent diseases. Pasteur's work laid the foundation for the development of antibiotics and vaccines and led to the creation of Big Pharma as we know it today.
Terrain Theory, on the other hand, traces its roots back to the mid-19th century with figures like Antoine Béchamp (1816–1908). Béchamp, a contemporary of Pasteur, contended that the internal environment of the body, referred to as the "terrain," plays a pivotal role in determining whether disease can take hold. This theory places greater emphasis on the body's overall health, including factors like nutrition, pH balance, and immune system strength. Terrain Theory suggests that a compromised internal environment can create a breeding ground for pathogens, while a healthy and balanced terrain can resist and even eliminate disease-causing micro-organisms.
The internal environment of the body, as emphasized by Terrain Theory, plays a critical role in determining susceptibility to diseases. For instance, a weakened immune system resulting from poor nutrition or chronic stress can make the body more susceptible to infections, even if the pathogens themselves are present in the environment.
Moreover, the growing field of microbiome research has highlighted the intricate relationship between the human body and the trillions of micro-organisms that reside within it. These micro-organisms, collectively known as the microbiome, influence various aspects of health, including digestion, immune function, and even mental well-being. This emerging knowledge underscores the importance of maintaining a balanced terrain to support overall health.
So whilst most People understand the nature of germ theory, few will have encountered terrain theory. In essence, it is suggested that viruses are part of our immune system and therefore are our friends who are called upon to do the heavy lifting when required, to rid the body of infection. This means they come from within rather than invading us from without.
The following video explains this is greater detail.

It makes reference to the work of Royal Raymond Rife and here is a quote from it.

Other advocates of the Terrain Theory include Dr Thomas Cowan, Dr Stefan Lanka and Dr Andrew Kaufman to name a few and I have provided a selection of their work here:

The purpose of this article is to serve as a small introduction into an alternative theory that has been around for some considerable time. Whilst the contents may appear radical to some, it is not my purpose to tell People what to think but to simply stimulate logical thinking and discernment and to encourage them to conduct their own research and thereby draw their own conclusions.
In the near future there is going to be a major shift in terms of transparency of information being made available to the public and much of it will challenge the established doctrine on many subjects. In time you may look back upon this article as being very mild by comparison.
